There are parts I like about this, but my big problem is one of the plants managed to move on it's own. No legs makes that a problem, and it was a bit silly. I liked the "emotional" Spock, but Bones's affected accent was annoying. Not sure why a "relaxed" McCoy all the sudden changes accents.

Indeed the plants were a bit ridiculous. But they are also what I remembered the most about this episode. That and Spock laughing and acting silly. That was priceless!

As much as I enjoyed this story, I totally disagreed with Kirk's intervention on a perfectly healthy society that seem to live simple and happy lives and still have their free will. Yes, their carelessness and happiness is induced by the spores, but so what!! For once, mind your own business, Kirk! Even Spock expressed some regret as he got back to the Enterprise and said that on the planet, he was happy for the first time in his life.

I was really impressed by the nastiness of the insults Kirk threw at his first officer to provoke him. Wow! That was intense and cruel!

Best dialog, of course, was from Spock, dismissing Kirk's orders:
- We're evacuating all colonists to Starbase 27.
- Oh, I don't think so.
- You don't think so, what?
- I don't think so, sir!
